(Everyone raising their hand): Yo!
(Everyone raising their hand): Yo!
“there’s a slug downstairs that transforms into your greatest sexual desire, and you think this is unusual?”
“Wait it transforms?”
I am thinking of the DS9 ep where Quark gets into Klingon financial shenanigans.
And I believe it’s just the overcoming the challenge of building a house, declaring a “war on drugs” and actually winning it, discovering how to make an electromagnet as a way of conquering physics, getting into a fight over haggling on selling that rare Charizard card.
So same progress as Earth, just a different way of thinking? Probably totally inaccurate, but maybe a hint of Japanese culture?
I have now seen Worf smile and I don’t like it.
Bring back the almost smile he makes. Or when they do a close up of him not smiling but you can tell he is smiling on the inside. Those are my favorite
If you look at the highest rated Justice League episodes, one of them is where Jeffrey Combs steals the show from all the main superhero cast (The Question)
Wasn’t killing the Romulan senator though more motivated by survival than politics, at least in Garak’s mind?
But then again I don’t know if anyone can really know what’s in Garak’s mind.
I don’t think I have rooted for a character in a show before but I really really wanted to see Nog and Rom succeed.
I wager the spring 2024 reprint should see good discounts. Unless the momentum for Heat does at Christmas and OGS’s need to dump that bulky space
The only thing Flamecraft has going for me is the $40 SRP. Cheaper than Waterdeep, Stone Age and other worker placement games, and even a playmat bigger companies would try to sell you separately!
Its also been great as a cheaper entry to placement and resource gathering games.
But pretty bare bones aside from a clever solo video-game-unlockable design I’d like other board games to add to their solo games.
My thought was “yes, no more crappy Hasbro quality components!”
Renegade did a good job fixing Acquire so far. You can actually see the numbers on the board now, and Sid Sackson’s name wasn’t wiped from existence.
Customer said the Renegade Robo Rally looks like a board game and not something found at Five Below 😆
Useless tidbit: Marge has bunny ears when she gets shocked in that dream level. This is because an idea Matt had was that Marge was going to be a rabbit, hiding the ears in her hair.
Scythe Expeditions, Great Western Trail Argentina, and very unlikely Heat as stores in North America are only getting maybe a dozen each today.
I feel there is still life in it, like with Superfight. It encourages debating to the judge and pairs cards directly with each other granting more interaction.
And if you count Dixit/Mysterium/Obscurio as a judge/committee pick game I would love to see more people take a stab at judge pick games
But it is a shame Superfight seems to be dwarfed by other mass market games.
The only saving grace for Wingspan fore are the achievements in the digital version. I enjoyed having some bizarre setups needed to unlock the chievos and as a result I got better at the game I feel and was able to sort of get around the luck of the draw style.
What sent Wingspan into the stratosphere of popularity was more tapping into the non gamer middle age market with articles like the NYTimes.com at the time spreading the word.
Had it not pulled a Wii (a term I use when a company attracts a new demographic) I imagine Wingspan would have hovered around or above Viticulture popularity.
On the plus side Blood Rage is a dead seller at our store compared to Rising Sun which still sells out at wholesale for months on end
“New Phone Who Dis?” From the WhatDoYouMeme people. I imagine it sells regularly, but going in with low expectations for a judge-picks-card game this one somehow makes it really hard to think up of humor.
The sentences are longer and specific you can’t let your imagination run wild.
Obviously a cash in but felt like such a beyond low effort
Typically it seems a console wants to be hyped first before the competition. I recall the next PlayStation got revealed in a court case discovery that it plans to announce 2025, so if I were Nintendo maybe June 2024 for a November 2024 release.
From what I understand in television writing it was a constant struggle of “should we write a cliffhanger hoping it gets us renewed” to “we should have some closure in case we get cancelled”, since many writers had no idea what would happen.
I unlocked everything in 18 games, solo only. I felt it was worth the $30 (got mine discounted), and would be worth $40 I feel for 2+ people playing all the way through.
However it is out at Pegasus Spiele US so retailers cannot obtain anymore so just make sure you are getting it for it’s SRP in your country
Sisko be like “I’ll make my own ship and sail across the cosmos like ancient Bajorans”.
Explorers was the silliest yet most wholesome episode.
