I played the (sadly no longer available) Android port, didn’t know it had multiplayer though

They have switched off the servers so I guess it’s “old” rather than “current”
Ooh nice, I’ll give that a go, cheers!
At the heart of Yokoi’s design philosophy lay a concept he called “lateral thinking with withered technology.” Yokoi’s design philosophy can be summarized as an approach that emphasized finding novel uses for existing, inexpensive technology. His philosophy arguably runs counter to conventional game industry wisdom where newer, flashier, cutting-edge technology is (assumed) better.
I think this is still Nintendo’s philosophy. I see a lot of people complaining that the Switch is “outdated hardware” compared to PlayStation and Xbox, not understanding that they’re not trying to make the same thing.
TS2 and 3 were probably my favourite shooters ever (except maybe TF2?), Halo always seemed like a step backwards because it didn’t have bots!
Was the original TimeSplitters on the GC? I know it had 2 and 3 but I thought 1 was PlayStation only.
Chip’s Challenge. It is a remake, but it was remade by the same guy, and it’s free!
What did you use for outside brightness? Your own sensor or public weather data?
Sunset routine every evening, steps through over 150 separate RGB values over 45 minutes.
Did you use the built-in Flux integration for that? I broke mine recently and it’s a real pain having to do it manually!
Cheers! I’ll let you know if I get it working (in several weeks when I actually have a chance for tinkering!)
What integrations did you use for all those lovely dials and what config did they need? I would like to shamelessly copy!
Being charitable I think I’d describe the software as in it’s early stages, or some similar euphemism. Don’t know anything about the company, but if their statement in the video about fixes coming in the next release is to be believed then it does seem like this is a bit of a beta but they do care about making a good bit of kit.
Not something I’d ever consider shelling out for but I really like that people care enough to make this sort of thing!
I bought the Trådfri hub before I set up HA so it was easier to just connect it rather than resetting and reconfiguring everything. I’ve sorted it now, but if it comes to changing everything or staying again from scratch then I will cut out the middleman and have the devices talking directly to HA.
You were correct, though I couldn’t find a way to update HA with the new IP. Ended up just re-configuring the Ikea integration, weirdly it’s forgotten half my bulbs.
True, I assumed the 20% battery comment meant that you’re handing them a game boy!
Probably best find the docs for the emulators you’re planning on using and see if they have any minimum or recommended specs listed. I know a lot of emulators have really come a long way in the last few years some of them might support really low-powered machines.
Anecdotally, I recently built a PC out of old bits and leftovers from friends’ upgrades. I used it more for native PC games but it was an incredibly cheap way of playing anything that wasn’t a recent AAA resource hog, so maybe see if people you know have parts that are just gathering dust.
This is retrogaming, if it’s got usb-c (or any form of rechargeable battery) then it’s too new!
Confusingly (and as I discovered in this thread) the name “PSX” is both the release name for the ps2/recorder and the code name for the original PlayStation.

So technically you’re both right and both wrong!
