Fucking awesome. Super jelly.

Saw a neat ESP32 IR blaster on sparkfun. Might try to set it up to control some LED string lights.
I think the video is better as a way to show some design techniques, than as a demonstration of dovetails as a connector.
That being said, if you didn’t need a permanent connection, it does seem like a decent way to make something that can come apart easily. Wondering how strong it would be after multiple assembles and disassembles.
Skeptical of this, while the dovetail is a good joint in woodworking, it’s not really the best joint for most applications. Even drawer boxes.
Modern glues are so good, that just a normal box joint or even a rabbit joint is actually stronger when properly made.
While you can control the layer lines and orientation to some degree, I’m thinking that a dovetail, in real designs, would be extremely hard to implement. Peg and hole with CA glue is most likely better when splitting parts that are too big for a bed.
Finally, the darker, gritter star trek we’ve all been waiting for. So sick of positive hopeful views of the future.
Since I don’t see it mentioned anywhere, it looks like the abbreviation ST is for the Short Treks.
Julian and Garak were clearly in a relationship. Just ask Garak.
Depends on if you’re coding for critical infrastructure (i.e. - electrical grid), or writing a high performance video game that can run on older hardware.
We should absolutely have specific licenses like Civil Engineers do for computer infrastructure that is required for any software written for specific purposes. It would be a nightmare to implement, but at some point, it’s going to be needed.
I bow to your trek knowledge
TAS was great for what it was. Animation at the time was super cheap and outsourced, so you can’t really put them blame on them for something that was pretty standard at the time.
One of the neat things about Star Trek: The Animated Series is that they were able to have crew members and aliens that were more than just humans with a couple of prosthetics. Aside from the Horta, and a couple glowing space things, basically every alien in The Original Series was a quickly painted extra.
You’d be hard pressed to find someone who says TAS was their favorite Trek, but it’s probably in my top 4 Trek series.
Thanks! It was a fun project!
Cool video.
