If it comes to iPads and Macs, paying $60 with the ability to access the game on different platforms + cloud saves may make it a compelling buy for the platform.

Now, if only Apple could beef up the AppleTV enough to be able to handle this game like a proper console (or at least close to it). It’d be an excellent experience given that controller support has arrived on all of these devices.

Agreed. I really really hope they don’t get cancelled or something. Last I heard that Disney picked it up, so hoping it survives the Iger shake up.

Imo, TNG is in a league of it’s own considering when it was released, what it achieved in terms of production value, writing, the themes it explored etc.

The Orville is really really good, and I love it, but it has a ways to go before it can stack up against TNG and its long list of accomplishments. That said, give me either anytime and I’ll happily watch them.

As much as I hate Nintendo, I fucking hate them for their stance on emulation. You would think they would have the sense to preserve their heritage outside of their own platforms since they do such an absolute dog shit of a job of providing access to the library and catalogue of games. Either make your games available (as widely as they are via emulation) or move the fuck outta the way.

Edit: I meant to say “as much as I love them”, but going to leave my double hate up there because of how idiotic their decision is to crack down on emulation.

I don’t think I implied Apple was being conservative from an engineering stand point. I meant it from a design standpoint. From an engineering perspective, what Apple has accomplished in computing in recent years has bene nothing short of game changing in every product category it’s touched.

I want Apple to make something that wild again. They’ve been a bit more on the conservative and safe end lately.

If this was true, I wouldn’t even be mad. The jank in some games is really starting to show particularly when you switch (heh) from a current gen console running at 4K to a 1080p display res on the Switch and then the game’s res is further brought down to maintain a solid frame rate in docked mode. It’s time for a beefed up Switch.

That is incredible. I have an M1 Ultra and love it for what I use it for.
