We would need Google to aggregate instances together for the benefit of search results, but the host instance is great to see.
Maybe when Reddit removes indexer access, Google may put some effort towards replacing it, but I wouldn’t give my hopes up waiting for Google Search to get better.
It’s not my cup of tea, but when I wanted an episodic story of the week show, I understood that variety would include content for other fans as well and I won’t always have an episode that is just to my taste.
It’s seems like a logical episode after having watched The Naked Now/Time and I know it’s a matter of taste which I’m happy for those who will enjoy it.
I thought we’d get a reverse Breaking Bad like arch for the main character to evolve into the future captain, instead they worked hard to make them not suitable so they could have the person who was captain just say at the end of the season, ‘youre the true captain’ with no justification or attempt to mak sense.
It will likely be similar to TOS S01E04 & TNG S01E03.
I believe Season 1&2 had more good than bad, even with the obscene Klingons, but after that I strongly dislike it, and that’s from someone who liked Enterprise the first time I saw it.
The one thing I wish they’d do is go back and refilm the Klingon scenes for future viewers.
My suggestion;
As for Picard, if you enjoyed the above 4 seasons, I would then watch Star Trek: The Next Generation before Picard as it is a sequel.
The consistency of TNG didn’t pick up for me until midway Season 3, now I like it significantly more than Discovery post Season 2.
I’ve had to download higher quality episodes as the lighting has made higher compression unviewable.
I just watched S03E16 “The Offspring”
I enjoyed it a lot.
This post implies that there is something wrong with this community, which in itself is the people in it, which I guess includes me.
Do you have a reference to comments having been removed? I’m on mobile and can’t see the modlog.
Personally I’d prefer to be on the main community than splintered on one that was likely made by someone who wanted their own mod authority.
I was watching Peak Performance as you commented.
I assume they timed Switch 2, based on this.
Yes, first season it was jarring, this season she feels more like an original character.
We’re milking the 2 minute trailer like its slurm and I’m all for it.
Personally I feel that what Reddit has been using for nearly 20 years was successful because it worked, the negativity that inevitably comes with large groups of people was the only issue and a lot of Lemmy users think it’s the basic systems that worked.
Karma added a little boost to activity and engagement, while upvote/downvote helped curate content at a site wide level.
The value of these made up points is directly correlated with the size of the overall group and the larger Lemmy grows, the more it will have the same issues, it’s just a matter of how long we get to enjoy this environment before it outgrows us etc.
The only important thing is that while we still can, we try to reinforce to people that the vote itself is matter of quality and appropriateness to the community the comment/post is in, as apposed to whether the thing is liked etc.
It’s been very common in my 3 weeks on Lemmy, it’s probably more common to see 100% upvotes.
Season 11’s first trailer I assume they meant.
I see references of previous Starfleet officers such as Worf or Captain Sysco;
With Worf the writers where careful to create a scenario where it was known and out in the open, that the only Federation law he broke was leaving the ship without authority, which he was officially reprimanded over. The actions he took on the Klingon vessel were considered lawful in and of itself.
Captain Sysco’s may be more relevant and example, but to me it felt more like a necessary decision for the benefit of future outcomes. To compare this to SNW S02E08, I don’t feel they outlined that he was a future threat to anyone, that being said I am undecided on the Sysco comparison.
I have also seen reference to Captain Picard’s assimilation, but to me that one is not appropriate as it was against his will.
