Is “informed experts” really an accurate description to use over “other racists?”

What a wretched sack of shit. Paul Graham as well. Con artists grifting and scamming society.
“Human biodiversity denial.” There’s a guy who is self-aware about his racism laying the groundwork for pretending he is not.
This is like the argument I got in on Lemmy where a guy told me I was subhuman because I approved of banning Nazis from social media.
Thank you! I’ve never heard of this one but it does look like it fits the bill. Certainly have to take it seriously when you get a classic Zelda recommendation from someone named Hyrulian.
I wish they would cut this stuff out. I want to go into a big temple, receive one new tool, solve a bunch of puzzles featuring that tool, and then beat the hell out of a large monster using that tool (and a sword).
Paperclip maximizer is a funny concept because we are already living inside of one. The paperclips are monetary value in wealthy people’s stock portfolios.
This guy is going to be very upset when he realizes that there is no absolute morality.
I think Roko’s Basilisk really sums up the Less Wrong community. They had a full panic but ultimately it takes a massive fucking ego to imagine an all-powerful AI would waste its resources simulating them in hell. The AI would rather spend its time making paperclips, it doesn’t give a shit about making perfect holodeck copies of nobodies when the post hoc torture won’t change any outcomes.
I didn’t check this out but I thought BEAM was Erlang?
Tech support duck looks like he’s checking out some delicious bread crumb photography on that palmtop.
For me rubber ducking a coworker solves a lot of these things instantly, but walking just gets me further entrenched in my own stupid ideas.
Every time I see a discussion of agile, there are plenty of comments about how mentally exhausting and useless/wasteful the meetings are. And the defenders can only say, “you’re doing meetings wrong!” Maybe if everyone is doing it wrong the process itself is fundamentally flawed and lends itself to misinterpretation.
I sure do hate time zones.
I’d rather see that than the concert, but that’s a pretty low bar to meet. They are spending more time tricking the autocomplete into working than it would take to write goofy songs directly.
They are a satire of themselves. You really can read only that and perfectly imagine how insufferable the event is.
Did you do a Voron kit? I’m considering doing one and was hoping you had a supplier you’d recommend.
