The Turing test doesn’t say any of that. Which is why it was first passed in the 60s, and is a bad test.

Was it “mix bleach and ammonia” ?
Edit: just to be sure, random reader, do NOT do this. The result is chloramine gas, which will kill you, and it will hurt the whole time you’re dying…
This website and timecube are things I wish I saved.
The field of wheat is also slightly sentient.
At the time, I rather liked the first half of HPMOR, because I thought it was going somewhere and it was taking the piss at Harry Potter. I also enjoy fiction where people aren’t idiots for sake of the plot, so I was enjoying a bit of deconstruction of that.
And then it just… Stopped the story and spun in place for what should have been the second half of the book and turned into drivel that takes itself very seriously.
I may have even told people to read it. I’m so sorry.
I loathe Terraforming Mars, because you can’t ease into it. You start at full speed and if you don’t know what you’re doing at the start, you’re already fucked. The problem is, you don’t know that, so it’s one of those where you to royally fuck up twice, before you can play a good game.
You can’t just go “well, I’m the tree-planting guys, I should probably focus on planting trees”, because the game doesn’t reward some things at all. There are straight up worse choices.
I spent a weekend learning a boardgame, only to find out it kinda sucks.
There are a lot of people in EA who just wanted a legitimate reason or excuse to sit around and talk about these big questions. But that made it feel like it’s a real job and they’re doing something good in the world instead of just sitting in a room and talking about philosophy.
Ding ding ding. Give this person the washing machine and send them on to the finals.
Also, anyone with a 10 dollar hammer can kill everyone on a bus.
Complete sidenote, but I hate how effective altruism has gone from “charities should spend more money on their charity and not on executive bonusses, here are the ones that don’t actually help anyone” to “I believe I will save infinity humans by colonizing mars, so you can just starve to death today”.
Huh, somehow I always imagined the Sovereign class to be bigger than the Galaxy…
I dunno lady, have you tried sitting in the ships sweet spot?
Someone disagreed with his pet theory, what else.
