No! Season two has some bangers, but maybe they can go back and watch those later.
No! Season two has some bangers, but maybe they can go back and watch those later.
Start with season 3, bro or broette.
I had to look them up even though Ive watched plenty of Voyager. They look like the Ancient Aliens guy lol
Oh, right, wasn’t paying attention.
It’s rare I side with a corporation over EU regulations, but this is one of those times.
That’s part of the game. Research in UFO Defense doesn’t always glean equipment, sometimes you get clues instead.
So if you play the game as intended, you don’t understand why the aliens are invading or where they come from until you piece it together throughout the course of the campaign.
But in 2023, you might just want to wiki all that stuff and no one would blame you.
The UI takes a little getting used to, but is actually pretty intuitive once you do.
The real tedium comes from trying to manage 6 bases and 4,000 troops and their ammo late game. Openxcom helps, but it can still be a slog.
But honesy the original UFO Defense is unbelievably deep and flexible once you get the hang of it in a way the later games aren’t.
Haha! Newfoundland got you!
Unsolicited pro tips: Hit the hanging fish with explosives on your way to the ship. They have sneaky bugs inside that will pop out and ambush your squad when they’re re running away, but not if you blast them first!
Once you get to the boat, keep your squad near the back on the top level in a defensive formation and run your fastest troop, by themselves, to the lever to pull it and run back asap. That way if they get trapped, you minimize the casualty count.
Then run like hell and get out of there.
Also, don’t use mechs lol. They’re probably about the worst troop type vs Chrysalids, so a whole squad is not going to serve you well, as you may have noticed.
Good bot!
Ha! Oh shit, that’s amazing! I haven’t touched the game since the mid nineties, so I don’t remember many details.
For some reason, I distinctly remember a guy who flipped a coin along his fingers because I thought it looked cool so learned how to do that trick.
Anyways, thanks for sharing that.
I wasn’t really used to jrpg’s at the time and didn’t realize what I was getting myself into lol. I didn’t finish Phantasy Star II, either, even though I loved it.
I did! I didn’t finish it though. I put many, many hours in but I remember it was extremely long so I never made it to the end.
Honestly, I probably put the most hours into Sherlock Holmes Consulting Detective :/
I think mine did too, that sounds right. I guess there was another model with a slot loader underneath?
And you are not wrong the visuals are an absolute treat! Sometimes it’s a pain in the ass to keep that TV around, but it always pays off eventually.
Lol I’m around a decade older than that, give or take.
It is on a 6 games in one cart (6 Pak) I got for ten bucks that includes five absolute bangers and also Columns.
SoR 1 is one of my absolute favorites of all time and I was glad to find it for less than like thirty bucks.
I didn’t know that, but I’m not surprised! Plenty more room.
But yeah, I was referring the unique crunchy, farty quality of the Genesis sound chip. It’s meaty and delicious in a way emulators have a hard time reproducing.
The sound is what stands out the most! It’s so good!
I also had a Sega CD but I did sell that a long time ago.
I was going to buy a Super Nintendo because I was jealous of all the RPGs on that system, but my best friend convinced me the Sega CD was a way cooler investment, especially since I already had the Genesis.
So I went and bought the Sega CD, excitedly brought it home and popped in the included game, Sewer Shark.
It was at that moment I knew… I fucked up.
Where did this amazing image come from? It has to be one of the novels, right?
EDIT: Found it.
It’s actually an original piece by artist, Melanie Schultz, inspired by pulp sci-fi novel covers. Great stuff!
