Are all fun language independent easy to learn party games that work for 2-8 or 4-12 players.

    No word based games

Does that also include other clue giving games such as the following?

    • Top Ten
    • Monikers/Times Up
    • Concept

I feel like they’re different enough to justify getting them and they’re extremely funny, especially the first three. Top Ten has cards that are open information and can be translated so out of those it would be the best fit, the other ones are language dependent.

  • I dislike this way of trying to put people into categories.

I have very few board games (10ish). Occasionally I rent boardgames. But still I’ve played over 200 different ones and know almost all of the games people mention. I know many places with very good collections where I can play board games for free, people often bring many games to events and I have friends who have very big collections as well.

The reason I don’t like buying more boardgames is I’m a fan of shared products. I’ll only buy small games that I absolutely love. That way I can save a lot of storage space. If there’s a game I want to play that I don’t have then I’ll either rent it or ask a friend to bring it. To ensure I’m not a leech I tend to bring snacks to private events or take care of explaining games to newcommers.

  • Awesome! I’ve been playing Spirit Islands frequently for the past three or so months. I’m really enjoying the different thematics of all the spirits, their aspects and their unique powers. The spirits names are quite unique and awesome as well: “River Surges in Sunlight”, “Many Minds Move as One”, “Lure of the Deep Wilderness”, etc., they’re kinda mysterious but still good at explaining the idea behind a spirit.

The artwork you praise so much is a bit overhyped as far as I’m concerned. There’s some really nice pictures, but there’s also some that are just kinda dull. The big variety of scenarios, nations and spirits is more interesting to me. I do feel like the more complex spirits also have the fancier artwork though. Which is a bit unfair haha.

My personal favourite coop game is Magic Maze, followed by Pandemic: Fall of Rome, The Shipwreck Arcana, So Clover and Top Ten. But Spirit Island is also pretty high on my list, especially when I’m looking to fulfill the itch for a longer, more complex coop game.
