  • Agreed, but I’d personally leave out the salty ‘muricans remark.

I edited that in later for the people who chose to downvote my comment, instead of joining the conversation.

Completely agree that Starfleet should not be tied to one country more than any other. Starfleet should be the furthest thing from the abhorrent US military.

    Exactly!

    America is gonna exceptionalism.

I´ll keep that in mind :D

I know it´s just a meme so Im not really serious here but still, people presenting Starfleet as US american pisses me off every single time. Starfleet represents humanity, not just one nation but the whole planet because in the vision of Star Trek, humanity has developed beyond nations. The other thing that pisses me of every time is when Starfleet is presented primarily as earth´s military. Sure one of their many roles is defence but a mayor point of Star Trek is that human culture has developed beyond the barbaric habit of military expansionism. Instead they do quite the opposite and expand by politics, diplomacy, alliances, scientific/tech exchange and trade, with Starfleet being the driving force behind most of it. Please don´t belittle the vision of Star Trek like this.

Edit: downvotes by muricans in fact only illustrate my point, so thank you for your involuntary support, lol
