And that Kira hut episode
If a glorified autocomplete algorithm can write more informative and concise commit messages than you, the actual author behind the code, I think you need to sit down and think long and hard what that actually implies.
Tbf mods always feel like they are just hacking and jury-rigging existing mechanics to fit a new theme (which they, well, are). If we can get proper support for ST-specific things like the neutral zone, warp drive-based maps rather than hyperlanes, larger focus on exploration or random anomalies, it could be interesting. It wont replace stellaris for me but it I can see ST fans preferring it over a (possibly janky) mod implementation… but this is all assuming the official conversion is not just as janky and limited by the old engine ofc.
I’ve been watching Strange New Worlds recently and I kinda like it even though some of the episodes have made me angry at how dumb everyone is acting. I also kinda wish that they could cut the budget of SFX by half and instead make twice as many episodes if they can be written well too? Maybe I’m just still spoiled by 20+ episode seasons that the older series used to have, but just 10 episodes doesn’t feel enough somehow.
Dunno about discovery, I agree with other users that it’s not that good, but I can tell you that it’s not required to understand SNW even though there’s some story overlap there.
They could always just make it “random adventures in a non-specific timeframe”. Futurama never really had an overarching plot anyway, I don’t think there’s a need to worry about all the previous finales it had 😁
I love Gul Dukat so much, he has got to be the best star trek villain ever! It is amazing how many excellent characters like that they had in the show, I should really rewatch it one of these days.
And 8 episodes later you get the arguably best episode in star trek, In the Pale Moonlight… damn season 6 was a blast!
Lorca got me through discovery for a season or two and then he was gone, I don’t think I watched anything beyond it. I hear it’s only gotten worse, somehow
