  • Honestly, i don’t know. I only ever had a Sony Ericsson w300i as a teen many years ago but i remember seeing the word s60 written on the file name of some .jar files.

You can always try downloading a game or two and trying to install them and as long as it’s the correct resolution, they’d probably will work. The N-Gage had to, It didn’t have much games made for it. ( not guaranteed tho)

I think the N-Gage games came in .sis format since there’s a few big sized games ( as in beyond 5 mb and up to a 100mb or so since j2me games very rarely exceeded 2mb, the k800i varient being mostly the biggest in size and the best in terms of quality, visual and emulation on j2me loader).

There’s a Symbian /N-Gage emulator for Android called eka2l1 but i never managed to make it work correctly.

If you want i can send you via direct message the websites i use to download these games. This post is on lemmy world and although the java games are mostly abondonware nowadays i don’t want them to ban me for sharing a link that they may think is piracy.

  • I though i was weird having 2 thousand java games from the flip phone era (j2me games) installed on my phone. Well, It still is weird but at least it cost me nothing.

    If anyone interested :

    • I use an emulator called j2me loader

    • The best resolution is 240x320, choose the sony Ericsson k800i varient or the Nokia 6xxx variants.

    • for touch choose 360x640. The phone variant doesn’t matter.

    • some recommend games are : the doom rpg 1 and 2 , wolfenstein rpg, orc and elves 1 and 2, the impressive crash bandicoot games, any of digital chocolate, glue mobile games.

They’re abondonware at this point really.
