A joke that only a linguist could love. :D
Very cool. Thanks for filling in gaps.
Wasn’t Saavik Spock’s protegee, not Sarek’s? Of course, there’s still the unnamed son whose wedding Picard mentions in “Sarek” (TNG S3E23). At least I’ve always assumed that he wasn’t talking about Spock since Spock never married after breaking off his bond with T’Pring.
Agreed. Jellico would’ve been a cool captain on another ship. I liked the part of his character that went to Riker as the best qualified pilot despite their butting heads. But his whole “My way or the highway” approach, as intended, was grating.
Jellico was an interesting way to address some regulars’ lobbying for changes to their characters. Ronny Cox played to perfection a sympathetic asshole. The only one to do it better is Todd Stashwick in Picard.
Still would’ve loved to see Jellico assimilated. He would’ve fit right into “Resistance is futile.”
Was I the only one hoping Jellico would be assimilated by the Borg?
Time Warp Trilogy is one of my favorites of all time. But honestly, there aren’t many fan productions that I don’t like. Of course, I’m also a fan of community theater and original plays, so maybe they’re just my thing.
All great recommendations so far. I’d add
Also all episodes with Harry Mudd. :)
The actors in this scene were so obviously actually laughing at the whole thing. It was great at the time, and it’s held up well.
In TOS, at least, the Federation used credits and traders seemed to do quite well. In TNG and later, we see them barter for nearly everything.
WRT Quark in particular, I don’t remember him selling anything that wasn’t replicated. My head canon was always that Starfleet took care of the tab for those personnel who didn’t want to dabble in money as a hobby.
