Yes, exactly that except that I made the first cutout on the 3D printer too.
I had to split it in 10 for it to fit on the printer bed but it gave me a very accurate template
I’ve made a dino shaped kitchen helper tower for my two kids.

I’m interested because I need CAD for my business, I’m running fusion 360 with in a VM ad paying for the license but I would like to move away from it.

The owner got a 3D printer that runs pretty continuously for at least 30% of the time I would say.
We are doing a lot of drill or assembly jigs with it. We are also sometimes doing assembly parts for custom projects.
Like someone really wants to make something’s with weird angles or hardware that are not compatible together then we can throw a 3D printed part in it to make it work.
You can do that on the Prusa. The firmware let you cancel a part mid print but continue the rest.
