I got a Mac Studio recently, but my huge hesitation is that the CPU’s TOTALLY suck lol. I only switched because I was genuinely sick of windows. And windows must have had a bug, because it kept hijacking my Chrome session with Edge EVERY Reboot.

But, now that the M3’s have raytracing, maybe they’ll suck less. Unfortunately, some areas, mac has definitely fallen behind on (like Aero Snap, we need magnet on Mac OS)

  • chatGPT is more for asking questions… IMHO, I haven’t really seen it solve anything that Google won’t anyway.

However, Copilot is basically a really advance autocomplete. So, if I write something like function LinkedList.Init() it will try and fill in the gaps. Whereas, in the past, I might have gone to stack overflow for basic algorithms

It used to be total rubbish, but these days its good for a lot of smaller things.

Depends on your use case though. But, I just haven’t seen the need for ChatGPT at all for what I’m doing (but stuff which is more natural language like journalism, or product summaries, it might be more useful).

Also, on an unrelated note, Dall-E SUCKS at generating Logos (it can’t even generate text)

  • Honestly, as others have mentioned, I don’t agree its bloated. If anything, its actually missing a few features (like the ability to bulk change many repos with the same issue tags). Also, I like some of the new updates that are being released.

It doesn’t run slowly in ANY way.

Furthermore, Sourceforge used to be the monopoly, and honestly, that was FAR more bloated. Projects will be found on any site, if its interesting. I don’t remember ever searching for projects explicitly using Github search (I only use Google). A good project will show up anywhere.
