I am fine with paying for the software as long as it provides the functionality.

It would be unfortunate if the only other option is sacrificing privacy.
Thankfully, some helpful comments have pointed out to software that are available to trial and seem to strike a balance between usability and privacy.
I was well aware of the age of the article and original post.
But I saw no harm in prompting the community to ask for suggestions to a software that is adding bloat in disguise of dumb features.
Thanks. The app is free to try for 30 days.
However, I can already see open issues that mention requiring the proprietary software from Logi to be installed in order for all the buttons and wheels to work.
Having said that, I will use it for a while before forming a concrete opinion.
Well, the gestures are a primary reason I use the software.
Without the software, the only functionality I get in macOS is scrolling, rendering the buttons and side scroll wheel useless.
Cross posted this as I just noticed the “feature” on my machine.
Any suggestions for alternative software for an MX Master 3 being used with macOS.
Buying a whole other device seems wasteful as the mouse is in flawless condition, but if you have any suggestions I can take a note of it when it is time to buy a new device.
Google Maps is just too good in my country and Apple lags behind by a lot.
But lately I have been using Apple Maps while I walk to and fro office as it supports turn by turn directions on Apple Watch.
E: I wish Google Maps supported Apple Watch.
I am not sure. Maybe someone using the public beta can answer.
Exactly. It is a feature that has been in Google Photos since a long while!
I guess Apple didn’t see a lot of value in implementing that feature.
I am just content that it’s finally coming. :-)
I haven’t used the public beta yet. If it is not in the beta yet, then perhaps it will be in a future beta iteration or the final release.
Most email apps on iOS and macOS route emails through their private servers which is a security risk. This risk magnifies when one has also set up their work accounts on their devices.
Also, many email apps cater to Gmail, which I understand is the most popular email service, but prohibits me from using with my accounts.
Therefore, the native, default mail clients on both platforms is what I use.
Do let me know if there are email clients that do not reroute one’s emails. I would love to try those out.
There is one nit feature that is making me hold on to Spotify — sync “Now Playing” queue among devices. Also its extension, control music playback of a device from another device.
These are features that I use day to day, and in the 3 months I used Apple Music, I was reminded of its absence every time.
The discovery algorithm used by Spotify is also better but the aforementioned features inhibit Apple Music’s UX enough to make me not use it.
That is a good idea! If all the alternatives fall short, this should be the best way forward.
